Gautam Bhardwaj shared some examples of sustainable and scalable digital micro-pension inclusion models from Asia and Africa at the 11th International Microinsurance Conference co-hosted by Munich-Re and the Micro Insurance Network at Casablanca, Morocco. The panel on “Closing the Last Mile Using IT” included Saurav Bhattarai, GIZ advisor for Nepal, Olugbenga Owolabi, the chief service delivery officer at Cellulant Nigeria and Johanna Knoess, GIZ project leader at Germany. This 3-day summit included debates on the business case for microinsurance, and lessons learned in driving growth and securing long term sector sustainability. Some 350 microinsurance experts from over 50 countries, and regulators from 27 nations participated in this global event.
