pinBox hosts a field visit by The World Bank, The Pension Regulator, U.K. and PFRDA (India’s pension regulator) to Vijayawada district in Andhra Pradesh, India
pinBox arranged a stakeholder field visit to demonstrate the new digital (paperless and cashless) process developed and being pilot-tested at some villages in the rural district of Vijayawada of Andhra Pradesh in southern India. William Price and Varsha Marathe from The World Bank, Darren Ryder, the head of Auto-enrolment at The Pension Regulator, U.K. and A.G. Das, the executive director of the Pension Regulatory and Development Authority of India (PFRDA) joined pinBox on this field visit. The delegation witnessed live digital national-ID linked, eKYC based enrolments and the use of the innovative Aadhaar-enabled payment system (AePS) for micro-pension contributions by farmers and MNREGA beneficiaries in a remote village on the outskirts of Vijayawada district. The field visit was followed by a meeting with Babu Ahmed, the dynamic District Commissioner of Vijayawada whose office provided extensive support to The World Bank and pinBox team for developing and field-testing the digital micro-pension inclusion model.
