Formal Launch of EjoHeza by Rwanda’s Finance Minister at Kigali
The Honourable Finance Minister of Rwanda, Dr. Ndagijimana Uzziel, formally announced the launch of EjoHeza, Africa’s first, government sponsored, national ID-linked digital micro-pension scheme in the presence of His Excellency Paul Kagame, the President of Rwanda on 14 December, 2018. EjoHeza targets the roughly 6 million non-salaried workers in Rwanda. pinBox was privileged to have worked with the Rwandan Ministry of Finance, AFR and Mastercard in assisting the Government with designing, building and implementing the EjoHeza long-term saving scheme. The Scheme was the result of incredible support from Eric Rwigamba and Herbert Asiimwe at the Rwanda Ministry of Finance, and from Waringa Kibeand Jean Bosco Iyacu of Access to Finance Rwanda! The pinBox and Mastercard team included Achint Ahluwalia, Folake Johnson, John Ashcroft, Ayandev Saha, Evan Inglis, Nzaramba Stevenson, Parul Seth Khanna, and Gautam Bhardwaj.
