October 2018 | Parul Seth Khanna from pinBox speaks at the conference on Global Trends in Digital Innovation and Financial Inclusion Implications for the Pacific at Fiji
pinBox co-founder Parul Seth Khanna shared our learnings from voluntary micro-pension initiatives in Asia and Africa and the lessons for the Pacific Island nations during the session on “micro-pensions: reaching populations locked out of the pension systems” at Fiji. The session was moderated by Krishnan Narasimhan from PFIP and included Beryl Spoor-van Andel from Blueprint Pension Services, Suzanne Orudiana from the Solomon Islands National Provident Fund and Pramod Achary from Vanuatu National Provident Fund. The conference included a fascinating field visit to the Naimasimasi village to witness the operating model of mobile money agents and retail adoption of mobile payments. This field visit also afforded intense conversations on pension and financial inclusion with Dr. Roy Theo from the Monetary Authority of Singapore, and with Jeff Liew, Krishnan Narasimhan and Jagdeep Dhaiya from the UNCDF.
