pinBox partners with EFInA to deliver a 2-day training program on micro-pensions for senior PENCOM officers (Nigeria’s pension regulator) at Abuja
Parul Seth Khanna and Gautam Bhardwaj of pinBox conducted a 2-day intensive training program for the micro-pensions team and other senior management at PENCOM, Nigeria’s pension regulator. The training was sponsored by EFInA, the Nigeria arm of UKAID-funded Financial Sector Deepening. The “microPension-in-a-Box” training covered micro-pension models from different Asian and African countries, as well as case-studies to explore lessons from both success and failure in expanding voluntary pension coverage to non-salaried workers. Participants also studied the pros and cons of alternative approaches, market frameworks, and product and process architectures. The training sought to help PENCOM develop a digital pension product, process and governance architecture for achieving mass-market coverage among Nigeria’s 40 million excluded workforce. We appreciate the highly positive feedback from participants and from Umaru Farouk Aminu, Dauda Ahmed and their colleagues from PENCOM, and from Folasade Agbejule from EFInA.
